The Clay Blue Devils will square off against the Yulee Hornets at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

After dropping their season opener at home, Yulee is headed out to face a Blue Devils squad ready to give their home crowd a win. Clay fell 30-20 to Fleming Island on Friday. The defeat leaves the Blue Devils without a win on the season.

Despite the loss, Clay saw an underclassman step up: Daylen Brown picked up 81 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Antonio Thomas also helped out with an impressive 88 receiving yards.

Even if they lost, Clay's defense still kept up the pressure with 8.5 sacks. Fleming Island's QB won't forget Dominic Swilley anytime soon given he sacked him twice. Javaris Roberts was another major factor on D, picking up 1.5 sacks and making 13 total tackles.

Meanwhile, Yulee and Union County were almost perfectly matched up on Friday, but Yulee suffered a 14-13 defeat.

Despite their loss, Yulee saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Preston Matricardi, who rushed for 59 yards and a touchdown on only eight carries, and also threw for 103 yards and a touchdown, was perhaps the best of all. Tj Williamson was another key back, picking up 82 receiving yards and a touchdown.

Yulee wouldn't let Union County keep a hold of the ball as they managed to force three fumbles. Yulee can thank Braelyn Jones and Joe Almonord for forcing all of them. Another thorn in Union County's side was Amauri Goff, who made 13 total tackles (2.0 for loss).
