Basketball Recap: Make It 13 in a Row for Brownstown

Brownstown entered their tilt with Mt. Olive on Thursday with 12 consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with 13. Everything went their way against the Mt. Olive Wildcats as they made off with a 59-33 victory. The Bombers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 12 matchups by 22 points or more this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Brownstown to victory, but perhaps none more so than Dayana Haslett, who posted 23 points. That makes it 13 consecutive games in which Haslett has scored at least a third of Brownstown's points. Another player making a difference was Peyton Barker, who had 14 points.

Brownstown's win was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 17-2. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 27.9 points per game. As for Mt. Olive, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-8.

Brownstown will head out on the road to face off against Altamont at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Mt. Olive, they will host Staunton at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
