Last Saturday, Valor Preparatory Academy strolled past Bonnie Cone Leadership Academy with points to spare, taking the game 62-45.
Valor Preparatory Academy's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Bishop Witherspoon, who scored 22 points. The contest was Witherspoon's sixth in a row with at least ten points. Alonzo Williams was another key contributor, scoring four points along with 12 steals and five assists.
Meanwhile, Jackson Day scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They claimed a resounding 80-39 victory over Walnut Grove Christian at home. That looming 80-39 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Jackson Day yet this season.
The victory got Valor Preparatory Academy back to even at 3-3. As for Jackson Day, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 5-7.
Valor Preparatory Academy suffered a grim 76-51 defeat to Jackson Day in their previous meeting back in November of 2018. Can Valor Preparatory Academy avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
