Basketball Recap: Randleman Beats Asheboro for Their Third Straight Victory

Randleman proved they can win big last Friday (they won by 32) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged the Asheboro Blue Comets out 45-42. For the Tigers, this counts as revenge for the 63-41 win the Blue Comets walked away with the last time they faced one another back in December of 2023.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Randleman to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jireh Price, who went 6 of 11 from beyond the arc on his way to 18 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Connor Cassidy, who went 5 for 9 on his way to 13 points and five rebounds.

Despite the loss, Asheboro still got an impressive performance from Osiris Rodriguez, who went 8 of 10 on his way to 19 points. Eli Johnson was another key player, putting up seven points.

The victory was the third in a row for Randleman, bringing their record for this year to 3-0. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.3 points per game. As for Asheboro, they moved to 4-1 with that defeat, which also ended their four-game winning streak.

Randleman has already played their next game, a 65-64 win against Oak Grove on the 11th. As for Asheboro, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 58-52 victory against Southern Alamance on the 12th.
