Basketball Recap: Alliance Piles Up the Points Against Hyannis

There's no place like home for Alliance, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Saturday. They took their game on Thursday with ease, bagging a 72-40 victory over the Hyannis Longhorns. Given the Bulldogs' advantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked 108th, while the Longhorns are ranked 236th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Alliance was led to victory by Seth Meyring and Espen Lanik. Meyring almost dropped a double-double with 22 points and nine rebounds, while Lanik posted 18 points and six boards. The dominant performance also gave Meyring a new career-high in blocks (three). Another player making a difference was Lexton A. Salcido, who scored seven points and five boards.

Alliance smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive boards. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their offensive rebound total in three consecutive contests.

Alliance's record now sits at 12-9. As for Hyannis, they dropped their record down to 9-11 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road.

Alliance didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 61-47 win against Lexington on the 15th. As for Hyannis, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 49-31 victory against Potter-Dix on the 15th.
