Basketball Game Preview: Bullock Creek Lancers vs. Meridian Mustangs

The Bullock Creek Lancers will challenge the Meridian Mustangs at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Bullock Creek comes in on three and Meridian on nine.

Last Monday, Bullock Creek strolled past Ogemaw Heights with points to spare, taking the game 37-22.

Meanwhile, you're bound to get a positive result if you outscore your opponent every quarter, and that's exactly how it played out for Meridian on Monday. They took down St. Louis 58-42. Given the Mustangs' advantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 107th, while the Sharks are ranked 331st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meridian pushed their record up to 14-2 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 29.6 points. As for Bullock Creek, their victory bumped their record up to 9-10.

Bullock Creek was taken down by Meridian 62-20 in their previous matchup back in December of 2023. Can Bullock Creek avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
