Basketball Recap: Eastern Comes Up Short

Eastern was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their 11th straight loss. They lost to the Nelsonville-York Buckeyes on the road by a 55-41 margin. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Eagles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 68-39 back in November of 2024.

Nelsonville-York found their leader in sophomore Madi Pidcock, who went 8 of 17 to rack up 25 points along with eight boards and five assists. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Pidcock has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Alayna Okulich, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and ten rebounds.

Eastern's defeat dropped their record down to 1-16. As for Nelsonville-York, their win bumped their record up to 7-12.

Eastern wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 55-17 victory against Meigs on the 3rd. As for Nelsonville-York, they have also already played their next contest, a 52-39 loss against Alexander on the 3rd.
