Baseball Game Preview: Corona del Sol Aztecs vs. O'Connor Eagles

The Corona del Sol Aztecs will hit the road for the first time this season to face off against the O'Connor Eagles at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday.

Corona del Sol is leaving town to face O'Connor after disappointing their home crowd in their season opener. Corona del Sol lost 8-2 to Casteel on Thursday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Aztecs have suffered since February 28, 2024.

Jaiden LoRe made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-4 with one home run.

Meanwhile, O'Connor had just enough and edged out Desert Ridge 7-6 on Saturday.

The team relied heavily on James Carr, who went 3-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. What's more, he posted three hits, the most he's had since back in February of 2024. Jacoby Noble was another key player, scoring a run while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances.

O'Connor always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .514. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Corona del Sol beat O'Connor 7-2 in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for Corona del Sol since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
