Eaton hasn't had much luck against Resurrection Christian recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Reds will be home for the holidays to greet the Cougars at 7:00 p.m. One thing working in Eaton's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last five games.
Eaton is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They took down Fort Lupton 78-61 on Tuesday.
Eaton can attribute much of their success to Crew Haythorn, who shot 55% from the field on his way to 28 points in addition to six rebounds and three steals, and Austin Crider, who dropped a double-double with 21 points and 11 boards. That makes it three consecutive games in which Haythorn has scored at least a third of the Reds' points. Jacob Ball was another key player, putting up nine points and five boards.
Eaton smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Resurrection Christian didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against DSST: Green Valley Ranch on Thursday, but they still walked away with a 52-47 win. The victory continues a trend for the Cougars in their matchups with the Raptors: they've now won five in a row.
Eaton better keep an eye on Egan Koenig. He was instrumental in Resurrection Christian's win, going 10-for-15 en route to 27 points and three steals. The matchup was Koenig's third in a row with at least 21 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Reagan Cunningham, who posted eight points and five rebounds.
Resurrection Christian now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Eaton, their win bumped their record up to 5-1.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Eaton has been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 33.3 boards per game. However, it's not like Resurrection Christian struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 23.7 rebounds. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Eaton might still be hurting after the 61-38 loss they got from Resurrection Christian in their previous matchup back in December of 2024.
