Basketball Preview: Harlandale Indians vs. Winn Mavericks

Harlandale is 10-0 against the Mavericks since February of 2017, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Harlandale Indians will head out on the road to challenge the Winn Mavericks at 6:30 p.m. Harlandale will be strutting in after a win while the Mavericks will be coming in after a defeat.

It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Harlandale ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 69-67 victory over Southwest Legacy. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.

Meanwhile, Winn pushed their score all the way to 65 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They were outmatched by South San Antonio on the road and fell 92-65. Winn has not had much luck with the Bobcats recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.

The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Jovan Jimenez, who dropped a double-double on 24 points and 12 rebounds. He hasn't dropped below 16 points for ten straight games. David Rodriguez was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with five rebounds and four steals.

Harlandale now has a winning record of 14-13. As for Winn, they now have a losing record at 15-16.

Harlandale skirted past the Mavericks 66-63 in their previous matchup back in January. The rematch might be a little tougher for Harlandale since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
