Soccer Game Preview: Waxahachie vs. Mesquite

The Waxahachie Indians will take on the Mesquite Skeeters at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Waxahachie will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.

Last Tuesday, Waxahachie sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 victory over Skyline.

Meanwhile, Mesquite hasn't lost a match since January 4th, a trend which continued in their latest game on Friday. Their defense stepped up to hand Duncanville a 2-0 shutout. Given the Skeeters' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 99th, while the Panthers and Pantherettes are ranked 236th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Mesquite has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 7-2-3 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 31 goals over those eight matchups. As for Waxahachie, their win bumped their record up to 7-1-2.
