Softball Game Preview: Wooster Generals vs. Loudonville Redbirds

The Wooster Generals will venture away from home to face off against the Loudonville Redbirds at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

On Saturday, Wooster came up short against Triway and fell 9-5.

Kennedy Russell made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run. Emily Boyd was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Loudonville fell victim to Cardington-Lincoln and their airtight pitching crew on Saturday. They came up short against the Pirates, falling 10-0. The game marked the first time this season in which the Redbirds were not able to get on the board.

Alesha Felix spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and eight unearned) runs on ten hits.

On the hitting side, Loudonville saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Adalynn Goudy, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base.

Wooster's loss dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Loudonville, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-6.

The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Monday as neither team is afraid to steal. Wooster has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Loudonville struggles in that department as they've been averaging 2.7 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
