Baseball Recap: Talawanda Comes Up Short

Talawanda was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 17th straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 11-2 to the Monroe Hornets. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Hornets this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 9-5 on Wednesday.

Talawanda saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Mason Merz, who went 1-for-2 with one run.

Talawanda's defeat dropped their record down to 0-12. As for Monroe, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 7-2.

Looking ahead, Talawanda will venture away from home to square off against Oak Hills at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Brave's pitchers better be ready for this one: the Highlanders have averaged an impressive 7 runs per game this season. As for Monroe, they will be playing at home against Wyoming at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
