Soccer Game Preview: Clovis North vs. McLane

The Clovis North Broncos will face off against the McLane Highlanders at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Clovis North is coming into the contest hot, having won their last seven games.

Clovis North is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They came out on top against Righetti by a score of 4-2. Given the Broncos' advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked fifth, while the Warriors are ranked 246th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Clovis North hit Righetti with a four-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Brady Downing, Brenen Clay, Josh Gault, and Nixon Hansen.

Meanwhile, it was close, but on Friday McLane sidestepped Liberty for a 3-2 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Highlanders.

Clovis North pushed their record up to 17-1 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 24 goals over those six matchups. As for McLane, their win bumped their record up to 14-7.

Clovis North came up short against McLane in their previous meeting back in December of 2024, falling 2-0. Can Clovis North avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
