Softball Recap: South Central Has No Trouble Against Southwestern

South Central hadn't done well against Southwestern recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Saturday. South Central was the clear victor by a 15-7 margin over Southwestern. Considering South Central has won eight matchups by more than seven runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

Delaney Pennington was incredible, firing off two home runs and five RBI while going 2-for-3. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaylee Chanley, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI.

South Central pushed their record up to 9-12 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.7 runs over those games. As for Southwestern, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost nine of their last 12 games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-13 record this season.

South Central will have a chance to go back-to-back against Southwestern: the pair will be back at it again later today.
