While Benton's victory against Davenport West wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Bobcats narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Falcons 2-1. The victory was some much needed relief for the Bobcats as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Benton's win bumped their record up to 11-17. As for Davenport West, the loss snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 5-15 record.

Coming up, Benton will look to defend their home field on Monday against Grinnell at 5:00 p.m. The Tigers' pitching crew has only allowed 3.7 runs per game this season, so the Bobcats' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Davenport West, they have already played their next matchup, a 4-0 victory against Highland on the 27th.
