Southern Columbia Area took care of business in their home opener on Tuesday (and then some). They put the hurt on the Lewisburg Green Dragons with a sharp 10-1 win. This was payback for Southern Columbia Area, who suffered a 7-3 defeat the last time these two teams met.
Caden Hopper made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out six batters over four innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Hopper was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances.
In other pitching news, Guy Longenberger looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (he also didn't allow any walks).
