Volleyball Recap: Haven Gets the Win

It was a proper cat-fight when Haven challenged Lyons on Monday. The Wildcats won by a set and slipped past the Lions 2-1. The Wildcats have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Lions, too.

Haven had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next two. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 24-26, 25-22, 25-15.

Avery Brawner paced Haven's offense, picking up 19 kills. Brawner got some help from Hadley Idacavage and her 19 assists. Mayzie Warden controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Haven is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 8-6 record this season. As for Lyons, they are on a ten-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-6.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Haven beat the Lions by a score of 2-0 later that day.
