Hailey Fell was a standout: she went 4-for-5 with three runs, three doubles, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Hayden Seifert, who went 3-for-5 with one home run and three RBI.
Mohawk Area now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Laurel, they now also have a winning record of 2-1.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Monday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Mohawk Area has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Laurel struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 9.3 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
