Basketball Recap: Kingsbury Falcons vs. Whitehaven Tigers

Kingsbury was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They were outmatched by the Whitehaven Tigers and fell 65-17. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Tigers this season, with their most recent defeat being a 69-18 loss two weeks ago.

Despite the defeat, Kingsbury saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Maleah Ward posted 14 points.

Taniyah Hurt was nothing short of spectacular for Whitehaven: she went 6-for-13 to rack up 13 points and four steals. What's more, Hurt posted two boards, the most she's had since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Laila Nelson, who had ten points in addition to five rebounds and four steals.

Kingsbury's loss dropped their record down to 9-16. As for Whitehaven, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 15-7.

As of now, neither Kingsbury nor Whitehaven have any future games scheduled.
