Football Recap: Unaka Rangers vs. Jellico Blue Devils
Unaka was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost to the Jellico Blue Devils at home by a 42-24 margin. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Rangers of the 21-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2023.
A big part of Jellico's win came down to the chemistry between Owen Morgan and his top target Bryson Ballard. Morgan rushed for 103 yards and a touchdown on only six carries while Ballard picked up 103 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Ballard's longest reception was for an incredible 85 yards.
Unaka's defeat dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Jellico, the victory snapped their losing streak at four games dating back to last season and leaves them with a 1-3 record.
Unaka will challenge Happy Valley at 7:00 a.m. on Friday. Happy Valley will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Unaka surely won't give up without a fight. As for Jellico, they will be playing at home against Midway at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
