Basketball Recap: Scotia-Glenville Tartans vs. Glens Falls Indians
It was a good run, but the Scotia-Glenville Tartans unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Saturday. They took a 65-61 hit to the loss column at the hands of Glens Falls. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Thursday (58), Scotia-Glenville still had to take the loss.
Despite the defeat, Scotia-Glenville saw an underclassman step up: Sierra O'malley scored 21 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points O'malley has scored all season. Noelle Acosta was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with seven rebounds and three blocks.
Glens Falls' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Darielle Gooden led the charge by scoring 21 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Frances McTiernan, who scored 12 points.
Scotia-Glenville's defeat dropped their record down to 12-7. As for Glens Falls, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 13-6 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Scotia-Glenville's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Witches at 7:15 p.m. on February 9th. As for Glens Falls, they will face off against the Bengals at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
