Basketball Game Preview: Albert Lea Tigers vs. Red Wing Wingers

The Albert Lea Tigers will head out on the road to challenge the Red Wing Wingers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Albert Lea is coming into the contest on a six-game losing streak.

Last Tuesday, Albert Lea was beaten by Mankato West 57-21.

Red Wing has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They were five points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 66-61 heartbreaker at the hands of John Marshall. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Wingers came into the matchup with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Minnesota basketball rankings (they are ranked 43rd, while the Rockets are ranked 147th).

Albert Lea's loss dropped their record down to 2-16. As for Red Wing, their defeat dropped their record down to 14-4.

Albert Lea was taken down by Red Wing 67-18 in their previous meeting back in December of 2024. Can Albert Lea avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
