Volleyball Recap: Tekamah-Herman Falls to Lyons-Decatur Northeast in First Game of Season

Tekamah-Herman unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They came up short against the Lyons-Decatur Northeast Cougars on Thursday, falling 3-0. The Tigers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Cougars apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 25-21, 25-14.

Despite the loss, Tekamah-Herman saw an underclassman step up: freshman Maryn Paul had ten digs and one assist.

Coming up, Tekamah-Herman will take on North Bend Central in a tournament on Thursday. As for Lyons-Decatur Northeast, they have already played their next game, a 3-0 defeat against Humphrey-Lindsay on the 2nd.
