Baseball Recap: Meadowbrook Academy Takes a Loss

After flying high against Ocala Christian last Monday, Meadowbrook Academy came back down to earth. Meadowbrook Academy came up short against the Cedar Key Sharks on Thursday, falling 14-4. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Sharks this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 22-3 on March 10th.

Gaige Daugherty made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole four bases while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. HECTOR GUERRA also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen bases of the season.

Meadowbrook Academy's loss was their fifth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Cedar Key, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-2 record this season.

Meadowbrook Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Cedar Key, they will head out on the road to take on Bell at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
