Basketball Game Preview: South Sumter Raiders vs. Taylor Wildcats

The South Sumter Raiders will square off against the Taylor Wildcats on Wednesday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Last Wednesday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, South Sumter beat Springstead 49-45. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Raiders.

Meanwhile, Taylor took their match on Monday with ease, bagging a 61-26 win over Angeline Academy of Innovation. The Wildcats have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten contests by 27 points or more this season.

Taylor's win came from a few key players South Sumter will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Jace Harcus, who went 5 of 8 en route to 16 points and three steals. He is trending in the right direction considering he's improved his point production for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of James Thomas, who went 5 for 11 on his way to 12 points and four steals.

Taylor's victory bumped their record up to 15-6. As for South Sumter, they have also been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-11 record this season.
