While Avon didn't have the best season last year (they finished 4-14), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They blew past the Farmington River Hawks 13-1 on Wednesday. The Falcons might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five games by 12 runs or more this season.

Avon pushed their record up to 5-2 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.3 runs on average over those games. As for Farmington, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Avon will take on Hall at 3:45 p.m. on Friday. As for Farmington, they will face off against East Windsor at 3:30 p.m. on Friday.
