Soccer Game Preview: Georgetown vs. A&M Consolidated

The Georgetown Eagles will take on the A&M Consolidated Tigers on Monday. Both teams are coming into the matchup red-hot, with Georgetown sitting on five straight victories and A&M Consolidated on 20.

Georgetown is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. Their defense stepped up to hand Friendswood a 6-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for Georgetown, who have now won 12 contests by three goals or more so far this season.

Meanwhile, A&M Consolidated was able to grind out a solid win over Hendrickson on Friday, taking the game 3-1. Given A&M Consolidated's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 13th, while Hendrickson are ranked 71st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Georgetown's victory bumped their record up to 19-2-3. As for A&M Consolidated, their win bumped their record up to 23-0-1.

Georgetown was able to grind out a solid victory over A&M Consolidated in their previous meeting back in January of 2022, winning 2-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for Georgetown since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
