Softball Recap: Berlin Sets Scoring Season-High Against Princeton/Green Lake

Berlin extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to 11 on Friday, dropping their season record down to 0-8 in the process. They lost 10-4 to the Princeton/Green Lake Tigers. On the bright side, the four- run performance marked the Indians' highest-scoring game to date.

As for Princeton/Green Lake, they pushed their record up to 5-4 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four matchups by six runs or more this season.

For Princeton/Green Lake's part, Peyton Zamzow was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out nine over five innings pitched. Zamzow has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than one earned run any time she's pitched this season. She was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of her five plate appearances with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

In other batting news, Jadyn Waters was incredible, going 1-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That home run was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Addison Canella, who went 1-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Looking ahead, Berlin will face off against Lourdes at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Princeton/Green Lake, they will square off against Kiel at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
