Softball Game Preview: Santa Rita Eagles vs. Benson Bobcats

Santa Rita is 0-4 against Benson since April of 2015 but things could change on Tuesday. Santa Rita will square off against Benson at 4:00 p.m. Santa Rita has given up an average of 22.7 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Santa Rita is headed into Tuesday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Thursday. They lost 24-3 to Desert Christian. The contest marked Santa Rita's lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Benson). They were the clear victors by a 26-5 margin over Apache Junction on Monday. The victory was familiar territory for the Bobcats, who have now won three matchups in a row.

Benson got a massive performance out of Sadie Webb, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, five runs, and four RBI. That's the most hits Webb has posted since back in April of 2024. Kaylei Taylor was another key player, going 3-for-5 with four runs, four RBI, and one stolen base.

Benson was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .519. They are 5-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Santa Rita's loss dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Benson, their win bumped their record up to 8-9.
