Baseball Recap: Firestone Continues Home Dominance on Monday

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Chippewa, Firestone was happy to have turned things around on Monday. Everything went their way against the North Vikings as they made off with a 17-1 win. The Falcons haven't had any issues with the Vikings recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

Luke Rhamy was a standout: he went 3-for-4 with five RBI and two runs. Those five RBI gave him a new career-high. Brennen Hostler also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Rhamy wasn't the only one making solid contact: Firestone kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Firestone's win was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 4-1. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.2 runs on average this season. As for North, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Firestone will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Vikings: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
