Baseball Recap: Red Bluff Comes Up Short

Red Bluff lost against Chico on Wednesday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Spartans lost 12-1 to the Panthers. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Spartans have suffered against the Panthers since March 25, 2023.

Red Bluff saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Mason Lyford, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base. Oscar Torres also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

This is the second loss in a row for Red Bluff and nudges their season record down to 5-7. As for Chico, their win was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 12-0.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Panthers beat Red Bluff by a score of 7-5 on Friday.
