Duarte and Sierra Vista are an even 5-5 against one another since March of 2019, but likely not for long. The Falcons will take on the Dons at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Duarte's pitching crew has only allowed 3.9 runs per game this season, so Sierra Vista's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Duarte is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 20 runs on Tuesday, they were much more limited against Arbor View on Friday. They took a 7-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Aggies. The Falcons' loss signaled the end of their six-game winning streak.

Meanwhile, Sierra Vista gave up the first runs last Thursday, but they didn't let that get them down. Everything went their way against Baldwin Park as they made off with a 13-2 win. With that victory, the Dons brought their scoring average up to 6.4 runs per game.

Marlene Diaz spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on four hits and racked up eight Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Ysabella Lopez was incredible, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in RBI (three). Isabella Ortega also deserves some recognition as she scored her first run of the season.

The win made it two in a row for Sierra Vista and bumps their season record up to 8-6. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 19.0 runs over those games. As for Duarte, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-4.
