Basketball Recap: Coolidge Takes a Loss

Coolidge lost against Slocum back in February of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Coolidge Yellowjackets had to suffer through a 59-14 loss at the hands of the Slocum Mustangs. The Yellowjackets' loss continues a trend for the team, making it five in a row.

Coolidge's defeat dropped their record down to 1-11. As for Slocum, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 13-11 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Coolidge will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Neches at 6:00 p.m. on January 17th. As for Slocum, they will face off against Mount Calm at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Slocum is facing Mount Calm at the right time seeing as Mount Calm is stuck on a five-game losing streak.
