Mauston extended their losing streak to 15 on Monday, dropping them down to 1-16. They came up short against the Adams-Friendship Green Devils, falling 15-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Green Devils this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 13-0 on Thursday.
As for Adams-Friendship, with the victory, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 15-6. Considering they have won 13 matchups by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.
For Adams-Friendship's part, Riley Weaver made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 12 over five innings pitched. Weaver has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kena Kirsenlohr, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and one stolen base. What's more, she posted two RBI, the most she's had over her last eight contests. Another player making a difference was Piper Moyer, who went 1-for-4 with four stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.
Mauston wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 17-0 loss against Nekoosa on the 12th. As for Adams-Friendship, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 13-1 win against Wisconsin Dells on the 12th.
