Basketball Recap: McBee Panthers vs. Lewisville Lions
After a string of six wins, the McBee Panthers's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They took a 41-36 hit to the loss column at the hands of Lewisville. McBee was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Lions apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January.
Lewisville found their leader in underclassman Aiyana Murrell, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and ten rebounds. Murrell hasn't dropped below four blocks for four straight games. Another player making a difference was Mariah Wallace, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds and three steals.
McBee's loss ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-5. As for Lewisville, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-3.
McBee is on the road again on Tuesday and plays the Hornets at 6:00 p.m. on February 6th. As for Lewisville, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Red Devils at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
