The Cy-Fair Bobcats will head out on the road to take on the Cypress Falls Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Cy-Fair knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 31 points or more in their past five contests -- so hopefully Cypress Falls likes a good challenge.
Cy-Fair had to skate by with only a three-point margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 20-point drubbing they dealt Cypress Creek on Thursday. The Bobcats blew past the Cougars 52-32. Given the Bobcats' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 215th, while the Cougars are ranked 703rd) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Cy-Fair's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Arnell Fontenot, who rushed for 101 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Fontenot has become a key player for the Bobcats: the team is undefeated when he posts at least 80 rushing yards, but 1-2 otherwise. Cy-Fair also got help from Kevin Ferrygood, who showed off his sure hands for 110 receiving yards.
Special teams also deserves some recognition, posting 22 points in total. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Jaden Vaughn, who ran a kickoff back for a touchdown. Another bright spot was a punt return touchdown from him.
Meanwhile, Cypress Falls came tearing into Saturday's game with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 43.3 points), and they left with even more momentum. They strolled past the Spartans with points to spare, taking the game 55-37.
Cypress Falls' win came from a few key players Cy-Fair will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Gabriel Wilson, who rushed for 182 yards and two TDs while picking up 10.1 yards per carry. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 104.6 rushing yards per game. Deron Simpson also helped out as he racked up 157 rushing yards.
Cypress Falls was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 426 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 161 rushing yards in four consecutive matchups.
Cypress Falls' defensive line made their presence known, laying out the QB three times. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: James Harris, Casen Warren, and Liam Madkins, who each picked up one sack apiece. Madkins got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Cy-Fair's record is now 6-2. As for Cypress Falls, their record now sits at 5-3.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Friday's contest: Cy-Fair has been excellent in the air this season, having averaged 269 passing yards per game. It's a different story for Cypress Falls, though, as they've been averaging only 122.6 passing yards. How will they fare against such a dominant passing game?
Cy-Fair came up short against Cypress Falls in their previous matchup back in November of 2024, falling 45-37. Can the Bobcats avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
