Softball Game Preview: Blythewood Bengals vs. Clover Blue Eagles

Blythewood hasn't had much luck against Clover recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Bengals will head out to square off against the Blue Eagles at 7:00 p.m. Blythewood's pitching crew has only allowed 3.7 runs per game this season, so Clover's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Blythewood was handed a heart-breaking two-run defeat in their last match, but they sure didn't let that happen against Mauldin on Monday. The Bengals put the hurt on the Mavericks with a sharp 12-2 victory. The result was nothing new for the Bengals, who have now won 12 games by six runs or more so far this season.

Meanwhile, Clover had to endure a four-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They came out on top against Catawba Ridge by a score of 10-5 on Friday. Clover's win was all the more impressive since the Copperheads were averaging only 1.72 runs allowed on the season.

Clover now has a winning record of 13-12. As for Blythewood, their victory bumped their record up to 19-7.

Blythewood couldn't quite get it done against Clover when the teams last played back in April of 2024 as they fell 8-5. Can the Bengals avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
