Baseball Recap: Conner Comes Up Short

After flying high against Boone County last Tuesday, Conner came back down to earth. The Cougars fell 11-7 to the Rebels on Wednesday. The Cougars were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Rebels earlier this season, when they won 9-2.

Conner's loss dropped their record down to 8-8. As for Boone County, their win ended a ten-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 3-6.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Conner will take on Simon Kenton at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Pioneers' pitching crew has only allowed 3.8 runs per game this season, so the Cougars' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Boone County, they will face off against Highlands at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
