Soccer Recap: Melvindale Takes a Loss

After soaring to eight goals the game before, Melvindale was a bit more limited in their match on Wednesday. They came up short against the Garden City Cougars, falling 8-0. While losing is never fun, Melvindale can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan soccer rankings (they are ranked 282nd, while Garden City are ranked 119th).

Melvindale's defeat dropped their record down to 13-6. As for Garden City, they are on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-2-1 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Melvindale will venture away from home to challenge Jefferson at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Garden City, they will be taking part in a tournament against Lumen Christi Catholic at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday.
