Baseball Recap: Gill St. Bernard's Takes a Loss

Gill St. Bernard extended their losing streak to three on Thursday, dropping their season record down to 7-6 in the process. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Rutgers Prep Argonauts. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Argonauts this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 5-2 on Tuesday.

As for Rutgers Prep, they pushed their record up to 11-4 with the victory, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.4 runs over those games.

For Rutgers Prep's part, the team relied heavily on Ethan Nepomuceno, who went 3-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Looking ahead, Gill St. Bernard's will welcome Newark Academy at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Rutgers Prep, they will face off against North Brunswick at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday.
