Softball Recap: Suncoast Comes Up Short

Suncoast was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They came up short against the Highlands Christian Knights, falling 23-13.

Peyton Williamson made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and one RBI. Zoey Herndon was another key player, getting on base in three of her five plate appearances with two stolen bases and three runs.

Suncoast's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Highlands Christian, the victory got them back to even at 2-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Suncoast will venture away from home to take on Seminole Ridge at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The Chargers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Hawks have averaged an impressive 8 runs per game this season. As for Highlands Christian, they are packing up and heading out on the road for their first away game of the season: they will challenge Boca Raton Christian at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. The matchup will give the Knights their first taste of in-conference action this season.
