Softball Game Preview: Amsterdam Rams vs. South Glens Falls Bulldogs

Amsterdam is 0-7 against South Glens Falls since April of 2016 but things could change on Monday. The Rams will look to defend their home field against the Bulldogs at 4:30 p.m.

Amsterdam fell victim to Scotia-Glenville and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They took a 4-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Tartans.

Meanwhile, South Glens Falls had already won nine in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8.4 runs) and they went ahead and made it ten on Saturday. They blew past the Blue Devils 15-5. The Bulldogs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven games by six runs or more this season.

The team relied heavily on Kylee Craft, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and two runs. That home run marked the first that she has launched this season. Another player making a difference was Gracelyn Smith, who went 1-for-2 with two runs and two RBI.

South Glens Falls always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .515. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive contests.

South Glens Falls' win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-1. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.0 runs over those games. As for Amsterdam, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-9.
