Volleyball Recap: Holden Gore Key Part of Team Effort in Knights Win

Charlotte Christian not only won on Saturday, but they posted their biggest win since August 16th (when they won 3-0). They blew past the Cary Academy Chargers 3-0. The Knights haven't had any issues with the Chargers recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

One reason for the win was Charlotte Christian's just kept getting better, winning each set by more points than the last. The match finished with set scores of 25-19, 25-17, 25-13.

Charlotte Christian's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Holden Gore led the charge by getting 22 digs and two aces. Gore has been hot for a while, having posted 11 or more digs the last 13 times she's played. Another player making a difference was Bella Eudy, who had eight assists and five aces.

They weren't the only good server: Charlotte Christian was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 15 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least seven aces in five consecutive contests.

Charlotte Christian's win bumped their record up to 9-4. As for Cary Academy, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-3 record this season.
