Volunteer entered their tilt with Cherokee on Tuesday with three consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with four. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Chiefs a 16-0 shutout. The Falcons might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine matchups by nine runs or more this season.

Addyson Fisher made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out nine over four innings pitched. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.

In other batting news, Jenna Thomas was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That home run was her first of the season. Zetta Smith was another key player, scoring three runs while going 3-for-4.

Volunteer pushed their record up to 11-2 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.5 runs on average over those games. As for Cherokee, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-11.
