Basketball Recap: Callaway Continues Home Dominance on Tuesday

There's no place like home for Callaway, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Saturday. They took down the Columbus Falcons 59-40 on Tuesday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Chargers also won the last time the pair played back in January of 2024.

Callaway had a senior duo take command as Jahanna Wilson almost dropped a double-double on 18 points and nine rebounds and Jernae Ringgold went 9 of 20 on her way to 20 points and five assists. Wilson is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last 14 games she's played. Another player making a difference was Trinity Cook, who went 5 of 7 on her way to 10 points and seven rebounds.

Callaway's win was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 16-3. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.1 points per game. As for Columbus, their loss dropped their record down to 4-9.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Callaway will welcome Neshoba Central at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Columbus, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Warren Central at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Columbus is facing Warren Central at the right time seeing as Warren Central is stuck on a five-game losing streak.
