Lovejoy waltzed into their match on Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They enjoyed a cozy 43-25 win over the Walnut Grove Wildcats. Given the Leopards' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 71st, while the Wildcats are ranked 205th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Lovejoy's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-5. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.3 points per game. As for Walnut Grove, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-5.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lovejoy will be home for the holidays to greet McKinney North at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. As for Walnut Grove, a feisty cat fight will be fought when the Walnut Grove Wildcats face off against the Sherman Bearcats at 6:15 p.m. on Friday.
