Smackover waltzed into their contest on Friday with 16 straight wins... but they left with 17. Everything went their way against the Bismarck Lions as they made off with an 11-1 win. The Buckaroos might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 13 matches by six runs or more this season.

Ava Walker made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over five innings pitched. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two RBI, and one double.

In other batting news, Emily Camacho and MaKayla Blackledge did most of the damage at the plate: Camacho went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two doubles, while Blackledge went 1-for-2 with one home run and two RBI. Those two doubles gave Camacho a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Taylor Darden, who went 1-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.

Smackover lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

Smackover's victory was their tenth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-1. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.9 runs on average over those games. As for Bismarck, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-13 record this season.
