Baseball Game Preview: Gibson County Pioneers vs. Lakeland Preparatory Lions

The Gibson County Pioneers will take on the Lakeland Preparatory Lions at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Gibson County will be coming into the contest with an undefeated record on the line.

Last Tuesday, Gibson County beat Peabody 6-2.

Noah Dabbs spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on five hits and racked up 11 Ks. Those 11 strikeouts gave him a new career-high.

On the hitting side, Owen Pack was excellent, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. Eli Goad also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Meanwhile, Lakeland Preparatory came up short against White Station on Thursday and fell 10-5. The Lions have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Noah Lindsey and Wyatt Helton did some serious damage despite the final result: Lindsey scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3, while Helton scored a run while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.

Gibson County pushed their record up to 8-0 with the win, which was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 7.2 runs. As for Lakeland Preparatory, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-2.
