Basketball Game Preview: Coram Deo Academy Lions vs. DasCHE Spartans

Coram Deo Academy hasn't had much luck against DasCHE recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Lions are taking a road trip to square off against the Spartans at 6:00 p.m. Coram Deo Academy will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.

Coram Deo Academy proved they can win big back in November (they won by 46) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Grapevine Faith Christian 34-31. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win Coram Deo Academy has posted since January 3rd.

Coram Deo Academy's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Selah Johnson, who posted 14 points and six rebounds, and Hadley Manack, who shot 63% from the field to rack up 13 points. Johnson is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in each of the last four games she's played.

Meanwhile, the third road contest was the charm for DasCHE, as they earned their first away victory of the season. They blew past Highlands, posting a 46-10 win. The Spartans' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Coram Deo Academy's victory bumped their record up to 5-3. As for DasCHE, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-5.

Coram Deo Academy was dealt a bruising 69-41 defeat at the hands of DasCHE when the teams last played back in December of 2021. That game was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Lions were down 40-14.
